It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and fellow member,

Alan Martland.

Alan had been a valued member of Mereside Model Club for many years and served the club as a committee member with quiet dedication and commitment. Although never one to seek the limelight, he was always pleasant, approachable and willing to help wherever he could.

One of Alan's greatest contributions to the club was the pivotal role he played in securing our present flying field around ten years ago. Without his determination and hard work, the club may never have found the wonderful site that so many of us enjoy today. His efforts have left a lasting legacy that will continue to benefit both current and future members for many years to come.

Alan will be remembered not only for his love of model flying but also for his friendship, kindness and gentle nature. He was someone whose company was always appreciated, both on the flight line and in the pits, and he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

On behalf of all the members of Mereside Model Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Alan's family and friends at this very difficult time.

Rest in peace, Alan. You will not be forgotten.
